Truth be told, I didn’t even know that there was going to be a new Metroid Prime 3 Samus figure on display at the Good Smile Company booth at NYCC 2016 this weekend. But a friend asked me to snap … Continue Reading→
Ordinarily, the most ridiculously popular and merchandised Gundams are the “main” Gundams that belong to the main hero of a Gundam anime series. But there’s a major exception to this rule, and it’s a suit that’s only seen in a supporting role in the Gundam SEED anime!
It’s one of the most popular Gundams ever, and it’s getting the highest-end treatment from Bandai: the METAL BUILD Red Astray Gundam is now available for order! But order soon, because it is selling out fast!
Continue Reading→I admit it: I tried my absolute hardest not to, but like everyone else in the anime-viewing world, I hate Chibiusa (AKA Sailor Chibi). But while I wanted to choke Chibiusa every time she came onscreen, I was shocked by how engaging her evil alter-ego, Black Lady, was.
I always wanted a Black Lady action figure–and now it looks like I may get the chance! At Tamashii Nation 2015, the Sailor Moon SH Figuarts Black Lady figure was revealed!
Continue Reading→There’s absolutely no doubt about it: Dragon Ball Z is the hottest thing in Bandai’s anime collectibles repertoire in 2015. But while collectors have been subjected to a near-endless parade of releases of Goku and Vegeta of late, there was still one major Saiyan (or should I say “Saiyans”?) character left to mine.
We’ll have to wait a bit longer for an SH Figuarts version, but the Dragon Ball Z Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks Figuarts Zero figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading→If there’s one character that epitomizes the new era of Dragon Ball Z anime more than other, it is definitely the God of Destruction, Beerus! Lord Beerus handily defeated Goku in the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods movie, and appears in both DBZ Resurrection F and the upcoming Dragon Ball Super anime.
And now, he’s set to make his most appearance of all: Bandai Japan has revealed a super-articulated Dragon Ball Z SH Figuarts Beerus figure!

Although Japanese figures have traditionally kept to the sixth scale and smaller, X-Plus has had a huge (no pun intended) hit on their hands with their Gigantic Series figures line of quarter scale statues. And after soliciting the first Mega Man Gigantic Series figure for release this winter, they’re moving right along with the series–with the sure-to-be immensely popular Gigantic Series Mega Man X figure now up for order!
Continue Reading→There’s a lot to love about the Gundam Build Fighter Try anime series (which is currently nearing its end), but among my favorite aspects of the show is the fact that there is a genuine female Gundam pilot protagonist. Hoshino Fumina is a breath of fresh air in the Gundam universe, and I’ve been looking forward to a toy of her for a while.
And now, the time has come: the 1/10 Gundam Girls Generation Hoshino Fumina figure is now up for order!
Continue Reading→Last weekend I attended the New York Toy Fair 2015, my second-ever trip to the show. I wasn’t expecting Bandai Tamashii Nations to bring much new stuff that hadn’t been seen before to the event, but I was excited to see what Bandai had brought along nonetheless.
And while none of the Bandai SH Figuarts Sailor Moon figures hadn’t been seen before, this was the first time several of them had been shown publicly in the United States…
Continue Reading→All discussion of the show’s quality aside (and we could definitely have some heated discussions about its quality), there’s no contesting that the Sailor Moon Crystal anime is coming out a glacial pace of just two episodes per month. But over six months after the debut of the series, the second arc of Sailor Moon Crystal is about to begin–and we’ll soon be seeing the sometimes-loved Sailor Chibi Moon, Chibiusa, in the anime! Bandai Tamashii Nations is ready to celebrate by expanding the best-selling S.H. Figuarts Sailor Moon line–the SH Figuarts Chibi Moon figure is now up for order!
